Bringing World Class Chamber music to Huddersfield

Originally the Huddersfield Music Club, the Society was founded in 1918, It has promoted its classical music concerts continuously ever since, even during the Second World War. These are chamber music recitals of high quality, engaging mostly artists of international standing.

Our season of seven concerts usually takes place between October and April.

Paul Robeson, Myra Hess,
Paul Tortelier, Amadeus String Quartet,
Peter Pears and Benjamin Britten,
Kathleen Ferrier,
and more recently, Emma Kirkby and the Rose Consort of Viols.

Our audience consists largely of subscribers who have pre-purchased tickets for the entire season. A subscription form is contained in our brochure, obtainable from our secretary David Allsopp (tel 07525337233, or email hudds_music_soc@yahoo.co.uk.) Subscriptions are normally accepted prior to and (in person) at the first concerts of the season.
